Taking pictures with a compact is soooo hard - how do people do it??

As my precious (the camera) is too precious to take to Greece

and I cannot imagine being there without one, I got myself a compact one.
It has some cool features, I just hope I get the hang of it (or you will just have to suffer bad pictures ;) )
